Casper’s Malt Shoppe opened its doors in 1936 before advanced refrigeration was widespread. Fast-forward 70 years to when we formed a business relationship with them. Entrusted with the task of re-branding, we needed to utilize the established foundation while creating a modern look. There’s a fine line between nostalgia and neglect, between antique and junky, and it was our job to find it.
We chose a 1940’s theme; the decade Caper’s business really boomed. We designed our graphics the same way they did it in the old days: by hand. Custom illustrations reflected the era. We applied the artwork to a logo, menus, posters, signage, and window graphics. Entering the shop felt like taking a step back to a simpler time, the atmosphere mixed well with the aroma of sugar and cream. Casper’s is a place for recalling and creating memories.
